A hobby in electronics need not be an expensive affair. We generally tend to source our components online. But they can turn out to be expensive due to added costs of delivery charges.
For example, I was at a place that didn’t have a good place to buy electronic components from and I was forced to buy LDR (Light Dependent Resistors) online. A pack of 10 LDRs cost me more than Rs 110.00 including delivery charges!
SP Road in Bengaluru
This is the one stop destination market that you need to source all your electronics from in Bangalore. SP Road, short for Sadar Patrappa Road, is one of the oldest electronics markets in Bangalore.
This place is god-sent. You will find all sorts of electronics in this stretch of road that is probably only 200 metres long. Be it whole desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones or even the humble resistors and LEDs, you will find a shop that specialises in every thing.
I’ve been buying all my accessories from this place. The only time I don’t go here for my needs is when I am not in Bangalore.
For all those who like to bargain, you can try your skills too. Like I said, this place is heaven for hobby electronics since you can virtually get anything that you might need for your next project.
So, the next time you are dreaming of your next project, you know where to go. Visit SP Road for almost all sorts of electronic parts or components. You might even get wonderful new ideas looking at all the things you could buy there.
Nice Post. But majority of vendors on SP Road(and other offline stores) have outdated components and module. They were good a few years back. But to build the latest embedded projects, you will have to look for an online store. Also they do not have any technical details of the products they sell, if you require the datasheet of the LDR you bought, you will have a touch time finding it.
Currently the best rated store on Google is http://www.probots.co.in. They have both online and offline retail store with products on display.
They have wide range of Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Sensors, Modules, Components and More.
